The Old City of Jerusalem isn't just a city of stones; it's also a spiritual energy center that radiated an immense heat, shaping the face of Christianity and changing the face of the world. Like the Earth's core, whose heat moves continents and creates oceans, the core of Christian faith, at the very place where it all began, created powerful subterranean currents that shaped a world.

On this tour, we will trace these currents: from the modern breakthrough of the New Gate, through the "Status Quo" struggles at the very core within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, to the "new continents" it created—the Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant Churches. The core of faith for over a billion believers and theological struggles that are still felt today. We will connect the stories, landscapes, and ideas that grew here and changed the world.

We will visit:

  • The New Gate: We will see how the 19th-century breakthrough was created, which in a way symbolizes Christianity's breakthrough into the world.

  • The Way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre: We will walk between the institutions of the Catholic and Greek-Orthodox denominations and understand the power struggles over the "core."

  • The Church of the Holy Sepulchre: The "core of faith" itself, we will better understand what the "Status Quo" is, and the special importance of the place for all Christian denominations.

  • The Alexander Nevsky Church: We will visit the church of the Russian denomination and see the dramatic connection between faith and archaeology.

  • The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer: We will end the journey at the church of the Protestant-Lutheran denomination and decipher its unique aesthetics.

Registration is underway and spots are limited!

The tour is in Hebrew, and participants arrive in private cars.
